Dawn joined the Board of Directors in January 2004, with her motivation being a strong belief in giving back to the community.  As a realtor for the Corky McMillin Companies, a corporate sponsor of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, she genuinely values the concept of community involvement.  Dawn recently announced she would donate a portion of her commission to the Club's Capital Campaign to Build a New Clubhouse.  Since joining McMillin Realty in 1991, she has served on the education Committee for the North San Diego County Board of Realtors for several years.

During the Club's Fifth Annual Super Star Recognition Dinner in February of 2005, Dawn was recognized along with her husband, Keith, as Champions for Children (a distinction awarded yearly to recognize outstanding commitment to Carlsbad's youth through vision, courage, enthusiasm, and leadership provided).  Dawn has lived most of her life in California, and has been a Carlsbad resident along with her husband and daughter, Kristin, since 1988.
