THE
PURPOSE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
- TRUSTEESHIP:
This includes safeguarding, managing and maintaining the resources,
image and good name of the organization. It signifies good stewardship
and accountability to the community and the donors.
- POLICY: The
directors determine overall policy and direction that the staff
and Chief Professional Officer carry out. Such considerations
as budget, services rendered, major program emphasis, personnel
practices and salaries all fall within the scope of policy.
- FUNDING:
The Board of Directors is responsible for the continued funding
and the financial health of the organization.
- PLANNING:
The Board of Directors is responsible to identify the need and
the role of the Boys & Girls Clubs three to five years in
the future, as well as, introduce management tools and processes
to achieve the "planned" image.
