Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in finance, from the University of Nebraska in 1985. A seasoned speaker, he conducts seminars on the modern portfolio theory, advanced estate planning, asset protection, investment management, and retirement planning. The CFP certification mark signifies that Scott has met the education, examination, experience, and ethics standards established by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Only qualified individuals are licensed to use this certification, which was established to assure the public that the financial planners using this mark are dedicated to a high level of professionalism.
Scott is President of Retirement Solutions, Inc. in Carlsbad, California, which is a full-service wealth management firm. He specializes in retirement planning, investment management, and wealth management strategies for retired and nearly retired people.
Scott is dedicated to reinvesting his time and energy into the community. He has been on the Scripps Hospital Community Advisory Board in Encinitas for 10 years and the Joint Boards for Scripps Heath. Scott is a member of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, Financial Planners Association, the North Coastal Estate Planning Council, and H.S. Dent Advisory Network.
Scott lives in Carlsbad with his two young daughters. In his leisure time, Scott enjoys jogging, biking, skiing, golfing and entertaining.
