Vigilucci’s World Beach Bocce Ball Championship XVII Raises Nearly $30,000

(Carlsbad, CA -- October 8, 2006) Produced by North County Athletic Association, Vigilucci’s Beach Bocce Ball Championship XVII attracted over 1,000 people for a day jam-packed with sun, food, fun, and of course, great beach bocce ball action.  The success of the event raised nearly $30,000 this year, and a total of over $350,000 since the championship’s inception.  Beneficiaries included Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, as well as Del Mar Lifeguard Association.

Mens, womens and mixed divisions were offered for the seasoned player and novice alike.  A sold out crowd of 300 teams participated in this year’s event, which was held at Dog Beach in Del Mar.  Plans are already underway for the 2007 competition, which will be held in July.  More information can be obtained by visiting www.beachbocce.com or calling (760) 729-0207.
