CPS Printing Gives $50,000 Gift
Will Sponsor Theater Room in New Clubhouse
(August 5, 2005 – Carlsbad, CA) A long time corporate partner of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad has donated $50,000 toward construction of a new Clubhouse. The generosity of CPS Printing partners Martin Solarsh and Philip Lurie earns them naming rights for the Theater room in the new building.
“When I started CPS Printing, my biggest concern was customer satisfaction. I see that same commitment to excellence in ‘kid satisfaction’ from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad,” said company founder Martin Solarsh. “I know our donation will provide thousands of Carlsbad kids an excellent place to go, as well as a lifetime of memories and smiles. That is why we’re happy to do our part for our community.”
CPS Printing’s donation will help fund the construction of the Boys & Girls Club’s new state-of-the-art Clubhouse. This 18,000 square foot building will be the Club’s new headquarters and a supplement to the original Village Branch built back in 1953. The new Clubhouse will be in the Bressi Ranch Development located southeast of the El Camino Real and Palomar Airport Road intersection. It will replace a tiny modular space that presently serves as the Club’s La Costa branch. As envisioned by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, the new facility will serve 200 youth on a daily basis and will include: a gymnasium, game room, teen center, technology center, learning center, as well as art, music, and dance rooms.
“Martin and Philip have long been supporters and partners with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad and this generous gift reinforces their commitment to the Clubs and the future of Carlsbad’s children,” said Boys & Girls Club Alum and Carlsbad Board Member Luke Matteson. “I have been involved with the Clubs for nearly 20 years, and I have never been more excited about a project than I am about this new facility. Words can’t justify how necessary this growth is or how grateful we are for these guys’ generosity, and we can only hope others follow their lead.”
“When I partnered with Martin in this business venture 15 years ago, we had a dream to be the best in San Diego County,” said CPS Printing partner Philip Lurie. “We have reached our dream, and now we want to help others reach their dreams. That is why we are making a donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad’s new clubhouse, so every kid that grows up in our city will have the opportunity to be the best at whatever they choose to do in life.”
