Car Country Carlsbad Helps Carlsbad Children

More than $90,000 will be donated to Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad

(January 13, 2006 -- Carlsbad, CA) A group of Car Country Carlsbad dealers are joining with each other for to help the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad expand.

“Each one of Car Country Carlsbad’s dealers works hard to provide vehicles that a family can drive off the lot knowing their children are protected on the streets,” said a joint release from the dealers involved.  “By making a donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, we are making a commitment to protect the children of our city by supporting a great place for kids to go so they can stay off the streets.  Unless of course they’re with their parents in one of our cars!”

The Car Country Carlsbad dealers involved are Hoehn Motors, Inc., Rorick Buick/Cadillac, Townsend Lincoln-Mercury, Toyota/Lexus Carlsbad, and Weseloh Chevrolet Hummer.  The money they donate will help fund the construction of the Boys & Girls Club’s new state-of-the-art Clubhouse.  This 18,000 square foot building will be the Club’s new headquarters and a supplement to the original Village Branch built back in 1953.  The new Clubhouse will be in the Bressi Ranch Development located southeast of the El Camino Real and Palomar Airport Road intersection.  It will replace a tiny modular space that presently serves as the Club’s La Costa branch.  As envisioned by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, the new facility will serve 200 youth on a daily basis and will include:  a gymnasium, game room, teen center, technology center, learning center, as well as art, music, and dance rooms.

“We provide a safe haven for kids from all walks of life, and our La Costa branch is literally bursting at the seams,” said Ron Sipiora, Chief Professional Officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad.  “The generosity of the participating dealers at Car Country Carlsbad will help us reach our goal of serving more children, and providing them with high quality programming that inspire and enable these young people to realize their full potential.”
