Carlsbad Car Dealer Helps Build Clubhouse For Youth -- Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad receives $50,000 donation

(Carlsbad, CA, November 1, 2005) – Bill Hoehn may not know how to speak German, but he knows how to put his money where his mouth is. The Carlsbad car dealer is donating $50,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad. The generous contribution will go toward completion of a new Clubhouse in the Bressi Ranch development.

“My family and I have sold cars to the people of San Diego County for the past 30 years and the things that make Hoehn Motors the most successful luxury car brand in the county are trust and reliability,” said Hoehn. The President of Hoehn Motors added, “The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad have been serving the families of this city for the past 50 years and you will not find a more reliable place to trust with your children and that is why I am contributing.”

Hoehn’s donation will go directly to the capital campaign to improve and expand the current Boys & Girls Clubs facilities. The new clubhouse will be located around the intersection of Palomar Airport Road and El Camino Real and is expected to be open to the public in 2007. It will contain the Clubs headquarters and replace the 20-year-old trailer that housed the La Costa Branch of the Club.

“The generosity of Bill Hoehn will not be measured by the new facility he is helping us build, it will be measured by the future of this cities’ children,” said Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad Vice President of Strategic and Resource Development David Kulchin. “This new Clubhouse will set the standard for other cities in San Diego County – when people want to see what commitment to youth looks like they will turn to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad for many years to see how it is done."

In 2004 and in his 50’s, Hoehn swam across the English Channel proving you are never too old (or too young) to make your dreams come true.  Hoehn says, “I chose to invest in the children of Carlsbad so they will have opportunities they may not have otherwise and that way when they jump into the ocean that we know as the real world they will not sink – they will swim no matter the current they are facing. I hope everyone sees the value in the future of a child and will help build this new Clubhouse for Carlsbad.”
