Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad Members Shop With A Jock™

(December 20, 2005 – Carlsbad, CA)  Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad members joined more than 200 eager San Diego County Boys & Girls Club youth and a multitude of celebrities at Mervyn’s in San Diego to participate in Junior Seau’s Foundation’s “Shop With a Jock™” event on December 12, 2005.

The annual event held during the holiday season provides the opportunity for Boys & Girls Club youth to shop for gifts for their loved ones.  Following a festive dinner, visit with Santa, and many fun-filled games and activities, the children were paired with their favorite Chargers, Padres, NFL, and collegiate athlete, who accompanied them on their holiday shopping spree throughout the store.

“Shop With A Jock™ is one of the most rewarding and important events the Junior Seau Foundation produces, because it teaches the children the importance of giving.  Our hope is that these kids will learn the joy, value, and rewards of giving to others,” stated Junior Seau.

The Junior Seau Foundation was founded in 1992 to raise money and resources for programs that inspire young people to face life’s challenges with enthusiasm, hope and dignity.  Junior Seau uses his platform in the National Football League to raise money and resources for programs that help young people face their challenges with confidence.
