Spark Plug of the Year -- Alyssa Mercier

(March 14, 2006 – Carlsbad, CA)  Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad recognized Alyssa Mercier as Spark Plug of the Year at its 6th Annual Super Star Recognition Dinner on January 26, 2006, which honored the Boys & Girls Clubs’ generous community and business leaders, dedicated volunteers, an active board of directors, and outstanding youth.

This distinction was awarded by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad Board of Directors in recognition of Alyssa’s excellence in leadership, character, outstanding service, and for providing that extra added spark.  Her initiative, dedicated service, and great sense of Club spirit have been an inspiration to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad board of directors, staff and members.

Alyssa Mercier joined Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad Board of Directors in March 2000, and has been invaluable in helping to promote the Club.  She was instrumental  in establishing the Club’s collaboration with Furnishings 4 Less, has chaired the annual Dinner Auction for several years, and in general, epitomizes the role of a board member. 

Alyssa works as Page Design Manager with the North County Times.  She was born and raised in Las Vegas, and now lives in Oceanside with her two sons, Caleb and Jacob.
