Helping youth become responsible caring citizens and acquire skills for participating in the democratic process is the main thrust of these programs. They also develop leadership skills and provide opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to Club and community, and celebrating our national heritage.

TEENSupreme® Keystone Clubs
Keystone Clubs are chartered small group leadership development clubs for young people ages 14-18. Keystoners elect officers, choose their own activities and plan and implement community service projects. A national charter entitles a Keystone Club to participate in regional and national Keystone conferences. The TEENSupreme Keystone Club program is sponsored by the City of Carlsbad, North County Times Charities, and United Way of San Diego County.
Youth of the Year
Youth of the Year is the highest award bestowed upon a Boys & Girls Club member. The program recognizes exemplary character, superior leadership skills, academic achievement and outstanding service to Boys & Girls Clubs and the community. Members compete locally at their respective branch and are selected by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad board of directors after a panel interview. Each Youth of the Year receives a continuing education scholarship and have the opportunity to compete state wide, regionally and nationally. Youth of the Year is a project of the Boys & Girls Clubs, KSWB 5/69, The San Diego Union Tribune, SignOnSanDiego, and nationally by The Reader's Digest Foundation.
Torch Club
This small-group leadership development program, sponsored nationally by Staples, is targeted for youngsters ages 11 to 13. Members elect officers and plan and implement their own activities and community service projects. Our Torch Club receives an official charter from Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
